Author's Biography

 

Glenn S. Guiles is Professor and Associate Dean Emeritus and former Director of Music Admissions at the State University of New York at Potsdam.  He has taught music in the public schools and at the college level in New York, Pennsylvania, Nebraska, Missouri and Virginia.  He studied at Ithaca College, Yale University and SUNY Stony Brook.  He currently lives on a hobby farm in the Adirondack Park area of Northern New York State.

Story Summary

Have you ever felt like you needed a hug?  Harriet does!  Harriet is the youngest and smallest in a large herd of miniature donkeys (animals that love to be near people).  But until she moves to her new home she is unable to get close enough to the people who feed her to get her much wanted hug.  A Hug for Harriet is the story of her move to that new home with her friends Sally and Nacho and her finally getting up close to a human and getting the hug she has always wanted

Story Summary

It’s a beautiful spring day on Mr. Michael’s farm and Harriet the miniature donkey is looking for something exciting to do!  When Mr. Michael leaves for work and doesn’t latch the gate to Harriet’s pasture, it gives Harriet the opportunity to visit new places, make new friends and see things she has never seen before.  Join Harriet as she leaves home and goes exploring in Harriet’s Big Adventure!
