This new event is scheduled for Sat., Sept. 19th and has been made possible, in part, with funds from the Decentralization Program, a regrant program of the NYS Council on the ARTS with the support of Governor Cuomo and the NYS Legislature and administered by the ALC for the ARTS. The art of local artists in Malone and a 30 mile surrounding area will be showcased. Maps of the area will be available which pin point different artist studios, galleries or public spaces where art is on display.
The primary goal of the Studio Art Tour is to provide access to the creative process and
environment of active, working artists and create a day of personal interaction between
artists and the community. One on one conversations will take place and hopefully lead
to a better understanding of how artists are inspired and how art is created. At several of
the locations, demonstrations by local artists will be taking place. Participants taking
part in the day will come to the realization that ART IS HAPPENING in our area.
In addition to visits to 13 different studios, galleries and public places where art is on
